Deep Run Presbyterian Nursery School helps each child grow emotionally, physically, socially, and intellectually. Since 1959, we have focused on helping children learn at their own pace. We offer a play-based preschool that balances shared and independent learning. Our teachers create an environment where children can explore and grow. We also have weekly music classes and invite guest visitors to enhance learning.
Each classroom is designed to encourage learning through play and exploration. The day includes time for rest, meals, outdoor play, and small-group activities. Children move through different learning experiences throughout the day, supported by teachers who guide and encourage them.
Visitors often notice the music class that happens every week. They also see how teachers help children explore and learn through play and interaction. The classrooms are set up to support both independent and group activities.
What a day looks like
A morning usually starts with parents and children arriving together. Teachers greet the child and help them settle in with familiar activities. The child is given time to explore and feel comfortable in the classroom.
The day includes time for play, small-group learning, rest, and outdoor time. Children eat meals together and learn about sharing and taking turns. Teachers guide them through different activities that support their development.
The afternoon begins with a quiet activity to help children wind down. Parents are welcomed back and hear about their child's day. Teachers share what the child has learned and how they have grown.
